St. Venera Lightnings have introduced their new players for the coming season during a rally for supporters held recently at the club.

The new players playing are John Agius, Carl Azzopardi, Redeemer Borg, Andre Cachia, Alan Ellul, George Falzon, Garett Magri, Nenad Veslji, Ismael Zammit, and Daniel Zuccaro.

The president, Colin Calleja, also announced that the club signed a one-year contract with coach Patrick Zammit, following last season’s successful performance. Marco Buttigieg was also confirmed as Under 19 coach. The Under 19 team was promoted to Section C last season.

Calleja insisted that the club’s main goal for this season is to win promotion to the First Division, which will be fitting to celebrate the club’s 65th anniversary.

The president thanked all the sponsors and beneficiaries who help the club financially or otherwise throughout the whole year. He also thanked the supporters for their continuous support and appealed to all St. Venera residents to support their local football team.
