The Puttinu Cares Foundation will be hosting their first-ever snooker competition at the Anglo Maltese League situated in Merchants Street, Valletta. There will be one table solely assigned for the competition and another to be used for snooker enthusiasts for a 60-hour marathon. This event is being sponsored by St James Hospital.
An opening ceremony will be held for these events on 25 September at 9am, followed by a closing ceremony on 27 September at 9pm.
Each player competing in the game is expected to donate 20 euro, while each marathon player is expected to donate funds at their discretion. All these funds will go directly to the Puttinu Cares Foundation to continue the upkeep and help provide financial relief to those families whose children are being treated in the United Kingdom.
Dr Josie Muscat said it is a pleasure for St James Hospital to be part of this charitable event which helps children in need and their families, which is in line with the hospital’s aim – that of providing care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
The Puttinu Cares Foundation was founded some years ago in order to assist families whose children have cancer, by alleviating some of the financial burden from them thus allowing them to focus solely on taking care of their sick child.
