This was an action-packed game which delighted the sizeable crowd at the Luxol Ground. Pembroke suffered a second defeat in a row while St Patrick are on maximun points fron two games.
After a balanced first period the Yellow/Blacks were dominant on the resumption and fully deserved the points at stake.
Pembroke opened the score in the 4th minute when Daniel Suda served Jake Muscat with a through ball on the left flank and the latter scored with a shot from the edge of the area.
Their joy was, however, shortlived as three minutes later St Patrick levelled matters. Samuel Buhagiar served Malcolm Zammit with a cross from the right and he scored from inside the area.
Pembroke keeper Neil Zammit then denied Gabriel Bonavia from concluding by diving at his feet after he was served with a through ball by Shalon Diacono. The latter was a constant headache to the Pembroke defenders with his fine dribbling, perfect passing and the ability of unmarking himself.
The last action before the break came from Pembroke as Matthew Camilleri served Muscat but Pisani turned his shot to a corner.
Five minutes after the restart St Patrick scored a second goal with a fine move which involved Diacono, Buhagiar and Bonavia with the latter shooting past Zammit from inside the area.
The Saints came very close to increase their lead three minutes later but Zammit denied Wayne Cuschieri with a fine save.
The Saints kept applying the pressure and in the 42nd minute Dion Fava served Vella whose header missed the upright by inches.
Four minutes later Fava served Diacono with a through ball but his shot went just wide.
The last action before the end also came from St Patrick as Zammit served Cuschieri with a through ball but Zammit denied him with a fine save.

San Gwann deserved their victory as they were the better team and showed better ideas than Naxxar. They also created more scoring occasions.
The Yellow/Blues took an early fourth minute lead. They won a corner kick on the right flank and Christian Grech served Ishmael Zammit who scored with a low shot past Naxxar keeper Andrea Bugeja after beating a defender.
They threatened again five minutes later when Dylan Mallia served Lee Galea with a through ball and Bugeja had to come out of his charge to clear the ball upfield.
Naxxar’s reaction came through a dangerous Jason Camilleri cross in the area which was, however, cleared away.
San Gwann created two actions in succession, but failed to find the net again
It was in the 26th minute that the Saints increased their lead as Mallia served Zammit in the area. Bugeja partially saved the latter’s shot and Ryan Tufigno was on hand to score from the rebound.
The second period was a carbon copy of the first with San Gwann holding the upper hand and Naxxar trying to act on the break.
Zammit served Mallia in the area but Bugeja foiled him with a timely sortie. The goalie then was called into action to save a Jesmar Briffa freekick.
Clyde Bonavia was twice denied by San Gwann goalie Jonathan Cardona before the Saints scored a third and final goal through Justin Agius in the closing minutes.
