Malta is to host the next edition of The PartyPoker.com World’s Strongest Man 2009.

Last held on our shores in 1999, the event has been gathering prestige and popularity ever since its inception in 1977, and today, the event is watched by millions of fans from all over the world.

For over three decades The World’s Strongest Man has tested the limits of human strength, power, and endurance. The best strongmen on the planet and the most demanding challenges like Atlas Stones, Fingal’s Fingers, Truck Pull and the Keg Toss make the World’s Strongest Man the premier event in strength athletics.

Thirty of the world’s strongest athletes will pit their strength in a series of 10 different events over 4 days of qualifying between 26 and 29 September, with the top 10 going on to compete in the finals of the event itself, between 1 and 3 October.

Large crowds followed the exploits of these ‘gentle giants’ 10 years ago all over Malta, and once again, there will be free entry for all to watch these spectacular feats of strength, certainly not something to miss! After all, it is not every day that you can see anyone single-handedly pulling an 18-ton truck, or an even more massive 45-ton Air Malta jet!

The PartyPoker.com World’s Strongest Man will be supported locally by Air Malta, the Malta Tourism Authority, Express Trailers, Coca Cola, and the Grand Hotel Excelsior.
