Locally-produced feature film Mhuh is soon to be shown in local cinemas. This psychological thriller written and directed by Andrew Attard revolves around a dangerous gang who threaten people for serious money. Anyone not able to pay their debts is brutally killed or even buried alive.
The plot also introduces two families sharing a long friendship. Manic depressive Ernest (Joe Vella) is married to Sonia (Jennifer Attard). They are the parents of a nine-year-old girl Valentina (Valentina Micallef), a bright girl with artistic talents. Ernest constantly worries that he is not his daughter’s biological father. This thought deeply troubles and confuses him.
The rest of the family includes Mike (Noel Chircop), an ophthalmologist, his wife Joanne (Diana Bezzina) and their daughter Claire (Amy Chircop). Members of both families are individually threatened from this malicious gang. What negative impact will these continuous threats leave on the young members of both families?
Ernest, who works as an air-conditioning technician, is responsible for all the maintenance work for Inguanez Web Service, a large company directed by Gwynette Inguanez (Eileen Micallef), a career woman trapped in a world of her own. Ernest avoids having contact with Gwynette during his duties at the office since they share a romantic past which had a sour ending.
Other actors include well-known singer Mary Rose Mallia as a fortune teller renowned for her supernatural powers, as well as Carmel Gauci, Andrew Attard, Lino Mallia, Aaron Gauci Janet Hili and Charmaine Falzon.
The featured film has an original soundtrack consisting of 11 tracks written by the Maltese composer Philip Vella.
