Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport (KMS), yesterday launched the SportMalta Awards during a press conference held in conjunction with Public Broadcasting Services.

The first edition of the SportMalta Awards will be held at The Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta on Saturday 16 January 2010, and will be televised by Public Broadcasting Services.

The press conference was addressed by Bernard Vassallo, chairman of KMS and Victor Formosa, Deputy Chairman of PBS.

KMS is aiming that these awards will become the main ones in Malta, so that athletes, officials and administrators who distinguish themselves, will be rewarded.

The scope of these awards is also to promote all disciplines to the general public.
