Reciting The Rosary

Malta Independent Saturday, 7 November 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

October is the month of the rosary and I felt that it was appropriate to end it with a prayer function, to satisfy Our Lady’s frequent plea to recite the rosary.

I invited all people who were prepared to heed her call to the Cross on Borg in-Nadur Hill, Birzebbuga, where an alleged apparition of Our Lady takes place every Wednesday. Here we recited the Holy Rosary every 30 minutes starting at 7pm on Friday, 30 October and went on throughout the night and the whole of Saturday until midnight.

The call for prayer, with the specific intention offered for conversions and for holiness of Maltese families was well received and attendance provided a more than adequate presence for the whole event. Moreover, I am informed that many people around Malta who could not join us in body, joined us in Spirit with their prayer.

I wish to thank all those who contributed to the success of this event, in particular all those who shared this experience with us, those who joined us in Spirit and not least the media who at short notice publicised this event. A similar event will be held in the not too distant future, details of which will be made known at a later stage. May God bless you all and Mary Our Mother protect us.
