After Sales service

Malta Independent Sunday, 8 November 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

After sales service in Malta leaves much to be desired. Very often one approaches a seller who makes several false promises to entice you to purchase his product, such as incorrect delivery dates, an incorrect price, the product not meeting specifications as ordered, untruthful guarantees on the product, etc. Very often, little can be done about it because you would have planned around the promise of sale ending up with something you did not order.

This cannot be said about Mecca Marine of St Paul’s Bay. I ordered my boat to be delivered at the end of May and a week before this date I received a call to tell me the boat was ready for launching. Expecting to have a boat with half my specifications installed, I took a list of what had been ordered and, to my surprise, the boat was just as advertised. The discounted price had not changed and, let me add, I had looked around and their prices are incredible. They offer an outstanding service of launching the boat, mooring the boat, boat and trailer storage, boat servicing, boat insurance, etc., and their after-sales

service is outstanding. I have asked Mecca for help several times as I am new to boating and, without hesitation, and often within 15 minutes of my call, a technician is out to my boat showing me where I have gone wrong. As soon as the boat is out of the water, they wash it and service the engines. This was not something I had expected and it is for this reason that I write.

This family-run business is one of the best in Europe, let alone Malta. Their comprehensive boat sales package is great value for money and I sincerely recommend anyone considering boating in Malta to refer to these people, even just for advice. I am not in anyway related or have anything to do with the business, but Nichol and Andre have something to be proud of. Keep it up!
