Speedy Treatment at Mater Dei

Malta Independent Sunday, 8 November 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

There may be a very long waiting list for surgery at Mater Dei hospital (which is probably true of most large, public hospitals anywhere in the world), but I would like to commend the speedy treatment I received there last Monday.

I had an appointment at 8.15am at the Orthopaedic Clinic. I was called at precisely 8.15am and during the course of the next hour-and-three-quarters I had a consultation with a specialist, had the plaster cast on my fractured wrist removed, saw the consultant again, had another plaster cast put on my wrist (!), then had an x-ray and finally a third and final chat with the consultant.

By 10 o’clock, my husband and I were on our way home – very impressed.
