After three sessions of the Farsons Cup, there is little to separate the first seven pairs as the Malta Bridge Club Pairs Championship approaches its final session tomorrow.

Yvonne Muscat Inglott and Anna Vella lead, with the current champions, Nathalie Martin and Simona Ardelean, heading the chasing pack.

The Malta Bridge Club was founded in 1968 with Gino Miceli as one of its founder members. He instituted the Farsons Cup competition, which ran until the mid 1990s.

With sponsorship from the Farsons Foundation, it was decided to rename the Club’s Pairs Championship in memory of Gino, giving re-birth to the Farsons Cup, which is now a fixture in the club’s annual competitions.
