New Collection of patterns on canvas launched

Artist and graphic designer Stephanie Borg, who is back in Malta after having lived abroad for some years, six of them in Oman, has just launched a brand new collection of vibrant patterns on canvas.

The versatile collection of designs made up of repeat motifs and linear forms is a new concept that enables art lovers to purchase affordable art that is not mass produced and offers a degree of exclusivity.

Clients can select a pattern, choose the colours they prefer that might fit better with their taste and décor, and also choose the size that fits their space (whether at home or office). They can also opt for different finishes for the canvas material (matt or satin).

This personal choice of combinations means art buyers can have unique pieces made for them.

“Ever since I can remember I have had a fascination with pattern,” said Stephanie. “When I was young, I used to go with my mother to ‘tal-bicciet’ and ask for any cut-offs, which I used to collect and play with by putting them next to each other and exploring different combinations. Going to ‘tal-bicciet’ for me was like going to a sweet shop!”

“This concept is a great way to give or own a piece of art without breaking the bank,” she added. “I have translated my fascination with pattern and my passion for colour into a large range of designs that betrays my living experiences in countries with diverse cultural backgrounds like the Bahamas, Florida, Italy and Oman.”

The patterns can be applied to a wide range of products such as wall-hanging canvases, wallpaper, textile and stationery. The art works are produced as giclee prints, and are printed to Fine Art Trade Guild Standard, using lightfast inks.

A preview of Stephanie’s “Patterns on Canvas” can be found on the artist’s newly redesigned and updated website www.stephanieborg.com. She can be contacted directly through the website or at [email protected].
