On behalf of Mosta young people and the volunteers helping at the Mosta Youth Empowerment Centre, I would like to thank all those who have shown support so that the service currently being provided, continues to exist. Your paper has covered this case extensively and for this we thank you.
Thanks also to the hundreds of young people and parents who have kindly signed the petition for this purpose, and who have attended the Local Council meeting of 12 November. A special thanks go to the Mayor and all the councillors who have approved, unanimously, the motion drawn up purposely for the benefit of Mosta young people. Everyone is now aware that the Mosta local representatives are all committed to see that this needed service for young people continues to exist.
Our service at the Mosta Youth Empowerment Centre is directed towards the personal and social development of young people and based on the reciprocal trust which exists between the young people and their leaders. This trust continues to be strengthened through the sense of continuity endorsed for the programmes and projects that they follow – both locally and abroad, on a regular basis, week after week, throughout the years.
Thanks to the support demonstrated by the Local Council and the many parents, this trust and this continuation are now guaranteed for the young people. I, together with all my team, are committed towards the Mosta young people. When we notice the appreciation and support of the mayor, the whole Local Council and the parents, we feel encouraged to continue our work and expand further.
