Eleven chief financial officers (CFOs) forming the European network of HSBC’s International division held a two-day offsite meeting in Malta aimed at putting together a number of initiatives for the forthcoming year.
This is the first time the CFO international conference has been held in Malta, which is considered one of the group’s principal operations in Europe. The conference was hosted by HSBC’s CFO for Continental Europe Jim Jackson. Tony Mahoney, HSBC Group’s General Manager, and Head of International Business also attended.
The participating CFOs hailed from Greece, Ireland, Hungary, Poland the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Israel, Russia and Malta.
“This two-day conference is of particular importance to HSBC as a group. It brings to one table the CFOs of all the operations across the European network, which is invaluable for sharing best practice and identifying common issues as we look ahead to 2010,” said David Demarco, Chief Financial Officer of HSBC Bank Malta.
