Greenhouse Emissions

Malta Independent Saturday, 12 December 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

Communist China is well positioned to step up production and overtake South Korea as the world’s largest shipbuilding nation at a time when its closest competitor is struggling to fend off demands for order cancellations.

That is the view of Graham Porter, one of the founders of containership owner Seaspan, who believes Chinese shipyards will press ahead. No wonder the Chinese communists in Copenhagen do not wish to cap their green house emissions now. Even when they hosted the Olympics – their efforts at clean up stretched to virtually the eve of that world event and compensation to those badly affected was real mean and meagre.

Dealing such a bad card to their compatriots makes one wonder what the Red Chinese have in store for the rest of the world. One can do worse than remember how badly Less Developed Nations fared when GATT came to an end and textiles and other start up light industries for countries giving their first steps up the economy became uncompetitive in the face of aggressive Communist Chinese exports with no effective checks performed on rumoured market dumping and unfair advantages through massive state subsidies.
