With reference to Scott Grech’s article entitled “Mepa inconsistencies ruining most scenic views in Gozo – Qala Deputy Mayor” (TMIS, 6 December), I would like to point out the following inaccurate information:
The Paul Buttigieg referred to in the article, is NOT the deputy mayor but a councillor on Qala local Council.
A clear distinction is to be made between what Paul Buttigieg, the Qala mayor, said on behalf of Qala local council when he addressed the press conference held on Wednesday, 2 December in front of the Mepa offices, and what Mr Buttigieg – an Qala councillor – may have pointed out to various
journalists.
The deputy mayor is Dr Raymond Xerri who happens to be the brother of the applicants of the issue in question.
I am clarifying this information for the benefit of the public in general for the better interpretation of the facts.
Paul Buttigieg
Qala Mayor
