The Maltese French Chamber of Commerce has recently organised a half-day seminar focusing on the title “Business Interaction with France”. Bank of Valletta plc, the strategic partner to the Maltese French Chamber of Commerce, kindly hosted the seminar at its Business Centre in Santa Venera.
Mr Charles Borg (designation) welcomed the participants to the seminar and considered that BOV’s partnership with MFCC was part of their Community programme. BOV considered such partnerships as very instrumental for the success of the bank and the business community at large.
Mr Joseph Bugeja, the President of MFCC, explained the Chamber’s role and functions throughout the years of its existence and remarked the celebration of its 20 years of service. Dr Mark Miggiani, the Maltese Ambassador to France, participated in the seminar and gave a detailed presentation covering two main aspects, being the understanding of the country and its culture, together with an informative exposition of doing business with French people.
The First Secretary at the French Embassy in Malta, Mr Tudor Alexis elaborated on the exchange of students between the two Republics and the benefits deriving therefrom. Other speakers during the seminar included Mr Jean-Louis Labauge of RCI Banque who shared his excellent experience when setting up office in Malta. Malta Enterprise, was represented by one of its directors, Ms Graziella Pullicino who covered the initiatives being taken by Malta Enterprise to attract new business to Malta.
The French Commercial Cousellor, Mr Michel Hermitte gave a presentation of French investment and industry in Malta as well as general trade information.
The participants to the seminar considered their participation as very fruitful and encouraged the Maltese French Chamber of Commerce to hold similar seminars twice annually. In conclusion, the President thanked the participants and BOV’s Management for hosting the seminar at BOV’s Trade Centre.
