Business Interaction with France

The Maltese French Chamber of Commerce recently organised a half day seminar focusing on ‘Business Interaction with France’.

Bank of Valletta plc, the Maltese French Chamber of Commerce’s strategic partners hosted the seminar at its Business Centre in Santa Venera.

BOV’s Charles Borg, welcoming the participants to the seminar, said he considered BOV’s partnership with MFCC as part of their Community programme. BOV considered such partnerships as very instrumental in the success of the bank and the business community at large.

MFCC president Joseph Bugeja explained the Chamber’s role and functions over the years of its existance and remarked on the celebration of its 20 years of service. Dr Mark Miggiani, the Maltese Ambassador to France, participated in the seminar and gave a detailed presentation covering two main aspects: understanding the country and its culture and an informative exposition of doing business with French people.

The First Secretary at the French Embassy in Malta, Tudor Alexis, elaborated on the exchange of students between the two republics and the benefits derived therefrom.

Other speakers included Jean-Louis Labauge of RCI Banque, who shared his excellent experience when setting up office in Malta.

Malta Enterprise was represented by one of their Directors, Graziella Pullicino who spoke about the initiatives being taken by Malta Enterprise to attract new business to Malta.

French Commercial Counsellor Michel Hermitte gave a presentation of French investment and industry in Malta, as well as general trade information.

The participants in the seminar considered their participation very fruitful and encouraged the Maltese French Chamber of Commerce to hold similar seminars twice annually. In conclusion, the president thanked the participants and BOV’s management for hosting the seminar at their business centre.
