HSBC Employees help add a Christmas touch to St Catherine’s Home for the Elderly

Malta Independent Sunday, 27 December 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 16 years ago

Employees from HSBC Life Insurance and the bank’s Personal Financial Services Department and their children lent a helping hand at the St Catherine’s Home for the Elderly in Attard to add a Christmas touch and bring a smile to the 92 residents and six Dominican sisters who look after them.

A three-metre Christmas tree went up in no time at all, with the children decorating the lower branches and the adults doing the rest. HSBC also supplied several large boxes of new Christmas decorations to complement what the home had accumulated over the years.

HSBC staff then served tea and cake to the residents, with conversation spanning the generations. With tea over, a lively game of bingo was organised by HSBC and some 100 gifts were distributed to the residents of the home.
