Mediterranean Bank has appointed Edward A. Jaccarini, BA (Hons), FCA, MBA, AMCT, as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Mediterranean Bank, Edward Jaccarini held positions as CFO for National Bank of Dubai – Investment Bank and for an equities derivatives boutique investment bank, Diwan Capital Ltd. Both organisations were based in Dubai and regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
Before moving to Dubai, he was the Finance Officer for Banc of America Securities Ltd, a London-based bank, and Finance Director for 30 other Bank of America subsidiaries. Previously, Edward headed the Regulatory Reporting department for the Bank of America EMEA region. Earlier roles included Financial Controller at Credit Suisse Securities Ltd, as well as positions within the Internal Audit departments at the London offices of Credit Suisse and The Bank of New York. For three years, he served as SVP, responsible for Accounting Policies and Control, at Riyad Bank, Saudi Arabia.
Edward is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and obtained an MBA from the City University, London. He is also a qualified member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. He joins a highly experienced and specialised team of local banking professionals heading the bank’s growth, led by CEO Mark Watson. The team brings together the best in international expertise and local banking tradition, offering euro term deposit accounts, savings accounts and wealth management products.
Mediterranean Bank is regulated by the MFSA and operates under the depositor compensation scheme established under the laws of Malta, which guarantees deposits up to e100,000 per person. The bank’s offices, situated at 10 St. Barbara Bastions, Valletta, are open Monday to Friday during office hours and offer term deposit accounts in euro and other major currencies, and savings and wealth management, as well as other related services.
