The demigods living on top of Mt Olympus seem to have their vision blurred by the clouds, making them unable to see the predicament of we mere mortals living at the foot of their mighty mountain!

While they deliberate on whether to opt for the Audi, Mercedes or Jaguar, most of us below are wondering whether we’ll be able to afford to take the family out to a decent restaurant during the festive season. Let’s face it, speaking for myself, I’m not lucky enough to have a friend who’ll take me in his private jet to EuroDisney or to see a football game, all expenses paid! No, whatever I do will come out of my pocket and with exaggerated utility bills already arriving at homes, there isn’t much that I, or anyone like me, can do! They say lower life forms learn from their mistakes – which doesn’t say much for the Olympians who are repeating last year’s mistake by sending bills just before Christmas, thus discouraging consumerism!

And anyone who says it’s ‘business as usual’, is either referring to the business of inefficiency, or else has his/her head so high up in the clouds that the lack of oxygen is giving him/her one doozy of a hallucination!
