This year’s edition opens its doors on Friday 5 March and exhibitors have already reserved all stand space.

The first edition of The Malta Property Expo proved to be very successful in more ways than one. Over 6,000 people visited the Expo and applauded the high level of organisation, and most of the 73 exhibitors went away with filled appointment books, with some sales actually concluded during the event itself. Then, in October, Malta’s first event of this kind, received a much-coveted commendation during the OPP Industry Awards held in London. This re-affirmed the event’s success by a highly respected industry body of international property professionals.

Duplex Real Estate Branding, the company behind The Property Expo, started working on this year’s edition almost as soon as last year’s edition closed. As a result, many exciting new ideas are being introduced and stand space has already been sold out, even though the event is more than a month away.

“Around this time last year, we had almost 30 per cent of the exhibition space still unsold,” said David Grech, the manager in charge of The Expo at Duplex. “This year we already have all the stands taken up and are now seeking to maximize space in order to accommodate some late bookers,” he continued. For this year’s edition there are over 75 exhibitors ranging from estate agents and property developers to building innovations, banks and other financial institutions, high-end interiors and many other related businesses. Among the many attractions, the Expo will showcase an entire apartment to emphasise the importance of interior design. This stand is being built with the assistance of a number of suppliers, interior designers and contactors and is expected to be very interesting.

The company is very proud of a scheme they set up that has now become part of the curriculum for third year students at the University of Malta. Students have been invited to design an environmentally friendly and efficient building of any type and the short-listed entries will be displayed at The Expo. This “competition” is expected to give students a unique opportunity to present their ideas and work with professionals employed in the industry today.

These are just two of the initiatives the organisers are working on to continue improving the visitor experience and quality of The Property Expo. As the opening date draws closer, other projects are being revealed that will certainly make this year’s event an even bigger success than last year’s.
