In the classifieds of every newspaper, one could easily find a call for applications when the need for any kind of job arises. However, not every employer makes use of this facility.

One of these employers is a woodworker, who used to work in a small carpenter’s shop in the small town of Nazareth. In those days, he used to employ people at any time and in any place. Nowadays He still uses his own tactics and employs several people at any time, any day, any place. And yes, despite today’s secular world, economic crisis or lack of values, there are several who hear His call and answer wholeheartedly.

The Archbishop’s Seminary in Rabat, Malta is engaged in helping several young men recognise their priestly vocation. This is what the priests and other people at the seminary did with eight young men who will be officially accepted as candidates for ordination to the priesthood during an Eucharist celebration led by Archbishop Paul Cremona on Friday 12 February at 6pm at the Nativity of Our Lady Basilica in Senglea.

The candidates for Holy Orders express their willingness before the Archbishop and the faithful to offer themselves to God and the Church so when the time is ripe they will serve as priests.

Joyfully, the Church accepts this offer, chooses them and calls them to prepare themselves well so that at the appropriate time they will be ordained presbyters. The Archbishop presents them to the Catholic Community who is duty bound to assist them in this journey with their prayers.
