Changing History

Malta Independent Saturday, 30 January 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

Mr Joe Martinelli (TMID, 27 January) was correct when he said that "Prof. De Marco was there (at the GWU headquarters) as President Emeritus and not as a nationalist politician.

But does that mean that if the President Emeritus visits the police headquarters he can assure us that the police have always done their duty, they have always defended the innocent citizen even when innocent citizens were tortured at the police headquarters? As president emeritus he was not expected to raise political issues, but the truth is only one and, president emeritus or not, no one is allowed to try to change history.
