I wonder whose idea it was to park a gigantic oil rig between Wied iz-Zurrieq and the island of Filfla. In this way they succeeded in spoiling one of the most marvellous natural scenery that exists in the Maltese Islands. As you can see from the photograph, the observation of Filfla is extremely hindered by the oil rig. From some parts of the coast road from where Filfla is best viewed, the oil rig comes directly in front of Filfla. In the past the oil rigs were parked far away from Filfla, on the side of Ghar Hasan. Why did we not repeat this practice this year and therefore could have avoided the silly mistake of spoiling the picturesque view of the island of Filfla?
