It is all very well to boast and sing a jing-a-ling about the 2,800 more surgical operations that were carried out at Mater Dei Hospital last year (TMID, 1 February), but what about the thousands that are still sweating on the waiting list?
Why no mention of the massive amount they are in number?
If 2009 was the year a record number of operations were carried out, will 2010 be the year in which those who have been waiting for years on end to be operated upon will at last find solace in having their sorely needed operation?
