Top-seeded Novak Djokovic beat Marco Chiudinelli of Switzerland 6-4, 6-2 yesterday to reach the quarter-finals of the ABN Amro indoors tournament.

Djokovic improved to 2-1 against Chiudinelli after also beating him at last month's Australian Open.

Fourth-seeded Gael Monfils downed local favourite Thiemo de Bakker 6-3, 6-2, and France's Julien Benneteau beat Michael Berrer of Germany 6-4, 6-4. Sixth-seeded Mikhail Youzhny, the 2007 champion, defeated Turkish qualifier Marsel Ilhan 6-4, 6-4.
