Domestica, renowned for offering high quality home solutions, will be opening a state-of-the-art showroom later this year. The 3,000 square metre showroom will incorporate extensive display areas, a show apartment and parking facilities, only 200 metres away from Domestica’s current premises in Valley Road, Msida.
The relocation, which is expected to occur in the first half of 2010, will showcase some of the most exclusive home brands exclusively available in Malta as part of Domestica’s brand portfolio, such as the famed Kartell, Berloni, Guzzini and the recently-acquired sofa brand Nicoletti, among others.
“Throughout the past year, Domestica has been focusing on restructuring its family business to streamline operations in anticipation of the company’s envisaged growth and we are now happy to announce the imminent opening of our flagship showroom, which will help showcase Domestica’s ever-growing portfolio of brands in an improved way,” said managing director Chris Vassallo Cesareo.
The new showroom, which is the creation of celebrated Italian architectural engineer Enzo Eusebi, will comprise three floors and has been designed with an eco-friendly approach in mind. The ground floor will offer visitors a comprehensive living-room experience, with sofas, TV units, accessories and anything customers expect to find in their chill-out area. There will be an intermediate floor totally dedicated to children’s and adults’ bedrooms.
The first floor will display Domestica’s collection of kitchens and the showroom will also include an atrium, featuring a shop-in-shop concept for brands of accessories, table and kitchenware and bed linen. The second floor will be dedicated to Domestica’s manufacturing arm and will be reserved for corporate clients, including restaurants, retail outlets and hotels, besides offering furnishing options for second homes and summer residences.
“There will be a dedicated team of professionals taking care of all our clients’ needs. An overseeing financial controller and a sales and marketing manager have been added to the team. On the manufacturing side, we have appointed a factory manager with over 30 years’ experience to oversee operations,” said Mr Vassallo Cesareo.
“The new showroom will make it possible to display more pieces from each collection of the 15 brands Domestica represents. The show apartment will offer a particularly fascinating experience, besides making it easier for customers to visualise the style they are after, as it will be designed in such a way that they can place an order for the contents of an entire room,” said Francesca Cassar, sales and marketing director for Domestica.
Renowned Italian architect Enzo Eusebi explained that the building uses a number of innovative features that combine form and function into an eco-friendly building that makes the most of natural light, thanks to the glass structure that completes the façade. Eusebi is well known for creating bold and coherent spaces that integrate various elements to make an impact on interiors and space.
After the opening of the showroom, Domestica is expected to continue expanding its brand line-up, always in line with the parameters of style and quality for which the company is renowned. Founded by Leo Vassallo Cesareo over 40 years ago, today Domestica offers a wide-ranging all-you-need-for-your-home solution, thanks to a collection of high-end international furniture brands. The brand portfolio also includes Casamia furniture, Steelcase office furniture, Fatboy and Guzzini accessories and Wanabo and Indel B wine cellars.
