Luqa SA-Pembroke Ath 1-2
The first half was a balanced affair with Luqa losing an easy opportunity early on through Christian Caruana.
In the 13th minute Pembroke opened the score through a lob by Andrew Scerri following a personal effort with Luqa responding through two dangerous attempts by Adrian Psaila.
At the other end Pembroke had a Scerri shot which was blocked on the goal line with Luqa drawing level on the half hour through Malcolm Tirchett’s angled shot from a cross by Stephen Cauchi.
A minute later Luqa were unlucky to hit the post through an attempt by Mark Said.
Three minutes into the second period Pembroke had a headed attempt by Carlo Leonardi which was cleared off the goal line.
Then they were close through Joseph Zammit with Luqa coming back through dangerous efforts by Mark Said and Lee Baldacchino.
In the 85th minute Pembroke were denied by Psaila off a shot by Jason Cassar but two minutes later they scored the winning goal through a close-range shot by substitute Simon Buhagiar.

Mtarfa-Siggiewi 1-3
Mtarfa were close early on through Giorgio Cumbo with Siggiewi responding through Pierre Spiteri whose shot was saved by Kurt Gatt.
At the other end Mtarfa had a shot by Jean Paul Ciantar which finished just high over the bar and on another occasion an attempt by Paul Azzopardi was well saved by Roderick Vella.
In the 17th minute Mtarfa broke the deadlock as a good move by Giorgio Cumbo was finished off by Paul Azzopardi who managed to beat Vella with a tremendous shot from outside the penalty area.
Siggiewi’s reaction produced a shot by Josef Vassallo which was cleared off the goal line and they also missed two clear goal scoring opportunities through Jason Camilleri and Mark Camilleri.
In the 43rd minute Siggiewi drew level through Jason Camilleri from a square pass by Shaun Farrugia and a minute later they took the lead with Mark Camilleri heading in from a Jason Camilleri free-kick.
After the break Mtarfa pushed forward and early on they were twice close through Paul Azzopardi.
On 64 minutes Azzopardi was denied by Vella off a well-taken free-kick with Siggiewi gradually sharing the exchanges and late in the match they were very close through Mark Camilleri and Josef Vassallo.
Two minutes from time Siggiewi added a third goal scored by Jason Camilleri.

Section B
Kirkop-Attard 1-1
Kirkop opened the score after just 20 seconds through a low shot by Christian Mifsud following good work by Josef Attard.
Attard came back through attempts by Stephen Said and Mark Saliba which were saved by Mark Farrugia and in the 12th minute a goal scored by Saliba was disallowed for an offside infringement.
In the 22nd minute Kirkop were denied by Formosa off a strong shot by Tyrone Bonnici and 10 minutes later a shot by Christian Mifsud was turned onto the post by the Attard keeper.
In the 35th minute Kirkop suffered a setback when Matthew Aquilina was sent off for a professional foul.
After the change of ends play continued to be balanced with Kirkop being denied on 51 minutes by the Attard keeper who brought off a fine save off a shot by Christian Mifsud.
In the 68th minute Attard were very close through Mark Saliba and six minutes later Kirkop wasted a clear opportunity through Brian Falzon.
Attard drew level on 76 minutes through a long-range free-kick taken by Clive Lanzon with the Kirkop keeper losing his grip on the ball which finished in the back of the net.
Late in the match Attard was twice denied by Farrugia off shots by Stephen Said and Mark Sultana.

St Lucia-Attard FC 1-0
Sirens were close early on through two attempts by Giovanni Galea with the Saints responding through a Michael Caruana free-kick which just missed the target.
In the 14th minute another free-kick taken by Caruana was saved with difficulty by the Sirens’ custodian Adam Fretwell.
Gradually Sirens gained the initiative and were twice denied by Fulvio Azzopardi off attempts by Kristian Galea and Alan Xuereb. Just before the break the Saints were very close through Christian Camilleri.
Early on in the second half the Saints dictated the run of play and opened the score on 52 minutes through a long-range free-kick taken by Melvin Agius which surprised Sirens’ keeper Adam Fretwell.
A minute later Sirens wasted a clear opportunity through Glen Gatt from a cross by Giovanni Galea and on another occasion an angled shot by Alan Xuereb finished just wide.
In a counter-attack the Saints were close through Joel Grima. Sirens continued to press forward but they were held out by a packed Saints defence which managed to hold on to their precious lead.
