Fitness Planet of Zebbug will be the venue for the Malta Drug Free Powerlifting Association’s first event of 2010.

This will be held on Sunday and will consist of the national team championships.

Four teams from Bertu’s Gym, Gharghur, Challenger Fitness Centre, Qormi, Fitness Planet, Zebbug, and FeelGood Preluna, Sliema, will attempt to topple the defending champions from Heavy Metal Gym in Birkirkara.

Malta’s premier lifter Mario Mifsud, who is the reigning 125- kilo world champion and world record holder in the deadlift, will be lifting for the reigning champions from Birkirkara.

Weighing-in of the athletes will take place at 10am while the lift off will commence at noon.
