MaltaPost has introduced its first eco-friendly electric postal vehicle, in view of the fact that low carbon transport and energy efficiency will become important considerations for MaltaPost when assessing processes and projects in the coming years.

The vehicle is able to hold bulky mail items such as parcels that will enable the company to deliver mail in the best condition. It is electrically powered, silent and completely without emissions, making it very environment-friendly.

The introduction of this vehicle is part of MaltaPost’s commitment to play a leading and effective role in society, while also tangibly demonstrating that it is a responsible and caring institution in the community in which it operates.

As part of MaltaPost’s corporate social responsibility, it supports initiatives related to the reduction of our carbon footprint, which has become a significant element in today’s world.

At a recent staff award ceremony, a special award was presented to Lorraine Pace in recognition of her being the first postal operator to use the eco-friendly electric vehicle on her daily rounds.
