The Gift of Life sponsored walk last Sunday was a great success thanks to the brilliant weather, an excellent turnout and outstanding service by police escorts PS1437 Norman Xuereb, PC1430 Alexander Mizzi and PC1443 Mark Alan Caruana, who accompanied us during the walk, ensuring our safety throughout, and who deserve a special word of thanks.

Over 100 walkers carrying pink and blue +9 balloons and LIFE T-shirts gathered at City Gate, Valletta and left punctually at 9.30am for Bay Street, St Julian’s in high spirits and blowing on their whistles as they walked at quite a fast pace.

We were also accompanied by six marshals who did a great job of keeping the walkers together. Our thanks go to all those who walked and were generously sponsored by their friends and families and to MP Edwin Vassallo for his support, as well as to Scream Daisy and the Hip Mamas.

We are pleased to say that e3,650 was raised in donations through sponsorships, and more money is still coming in. This will go towards the Hope Crisis Pregnancy Support’s long term project to open a short stay shelter, life skills and child-care centre, which will improve the support it already offers to women in crisis pregnancy and their babies.
