San Gwann are now in deep relegation trouble at the bottom of the table. Their fighting spirit is second to none, but they lack punch in attack and the defence is many a times caught napping.

In the second half the match failed to liven up. On 51 minutes Glen Bonello tried his luck from the edge of the area but his effort went slightly over the bar. On 57 minutes Silvio Sciberras passed towards Anthony Ewurun whose angled shot was well blocked by Spiteri.
Two minutes later Nathan Caruana dribbled past a couple of defenders but shot weakly with only Spiteri to beat. On 62 minutes San Gwann’s first real danger when a Lee Cumbo freekick was turned into a corner by Thomas Galea.

Deep in injury time St George’s were reduced to ten players when Christian Grech was sent off for dissent.
