New High reach trucks introduced

Michael Debono Ltd (MDL), official representatives of Toyota Material Handling Equipment (TMHE), are introducing a new generation of Toyota’s successful BT Reflex high reach truck.

The BT Reflex range has been completely redesigned from the inside out, with intelligent engineering and an operator-friendly design to meet the evolving needs of customers across Europe. From powerful, efficient AC motors for safe, highly productive operation, the BT Reflex sets new standards for intelligent reach truck design with a maximum lifting height of up to 12.5meters.

The BT Reflex range comes in five models with load capacities ranging from 1.4 to 2.5 tonnes. Offered with BT’s exclusive tilting cab for added ergonomics, the BT Reflex is also available with cold store specifications and with drive-in versions for use in narrow racking systems. Side-shift is available as a standard feature.

In addition, the BT Reflex’s ‘car pedal’ layout gives a safe, intuitive driving experience, and the automatic parking brake engages when the truck is stationary and releases when the accelerator is pressed, for added safety. Optimum reliability is ensured by the strictest quality standards of the world-renowned Toyota Production System (TPS). The range features heavy-duty drive units and gear boxes for extended durability in the most demanding operations. Fewer parts, along with advanced components – such as totally brushless motors and leak-free hydraulic connectors – help ensure that the BT Reflex works harder for longer.

Customer needs come first when Toyota Material Handling (TMH) designs new products. As part of the development process for the BT Reflex, TMH conducted extensive research to determine what key factors European customers consider when choosing reach trucks. To help businesses boost their productivity, the BT Reflex range uses advanced AC motors to deliver high lift and lowering speeds, high drive speeds and rapid acceleration – for shorter cycle times. BT reach trucks were the first warehouse trucks to offer 360° electronic steering for exceptional manoeuvrability and smooth travel. PIN-code programming for each application and driver’s specifications is available on each model as standard.

Michael Debono, MDL director and head of the Toyota Material Handling operation said; “More than 60 years of BT warehouse equipment expertise has gone into designing these trucks and Maltese customers can count on BT Reflex for the highest levels of quality and value. The BT Reflex ensures that our clients achieve optimum performance from the trucks and their operator.”

Over the past two years, TMHE has launched four major product ranges in addition to BT Reflex: Toyota Tonero engine-powered forklifts, BT Levio powered pallet trucks, BT Staxio powered stackers and Toyota Traigo 48 electric forklifts. These four new ranges, together with BT Reflex, address 70% of the European materials handling market in terms of units sold.
