Café Jubilee Budapest Inaugurated

Malta Independent Sunday, 14 March 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Café Jubilee launched its first overseas establishment last week in Budapest, making the traditional Café Jubilee home-grown menu available in Central Europe. The opening was celebrated with an inauguration party that was attended by some 300 guests, including senior executives from Budapest-based global companies, senior Corinthia Group executives, including chairman and CEO Alfred Pisani, and other Maltese guests.

The new Café Jubilee bistro-pub in Budapest is located on the main thoroughfare in the heart of the city. Taking up almost 500 square metres of a corner property, it offers the same concept that has made the Café Jubilee brand so successful and well-loved in Malta and Gozo.

The menu also reflects the Café Jubilee brand and is based on a variation of food concepts as that offered in Malta, with the sweets section also offering a taste of Hungary, thanks to cakes that are typical of this region. At the moment the Café Jubilee Budapest team consists of some 13 full-time employees, all of whom have been trained to live and breathe the Café Jubilee brand. The outlet caters for about a 100 covers.

The launching of the Café Jubilee brand in Budapest is a strategic partnership and joint venture with Corinthia Group and positions the Café Jubilee brand on the international map as another successful Maltese company with outstanding international experience.

During a brief welcome address at the launch party held last month, Alex Scicluna, chief executive officer of the Jubilee Group of Companies, thanked Mr Pisani for his support in taking the Café Jubilee brand overseas.

“This is a dream come true for us. It’s been a long journey since we opened our first bistro pub in Victoria 10 years ago and we are now seeing our hard work, determination and perseverance come to fruition. I’d like to thank all our Maltese patrons, who have always supported the Café Jubilee brand throughout the last decade,” said Mr Scicluna.

“Corinthia has been present in Budapest for about 15 years and is successfully positioned with two prime hotels on either side of this magnificent city. This is our latest venture and we’re proud to be working with Café Jubilee to introduce this Mediterranean concept to Budapest,” said Mr Pisani.
