Ballet Workshops with Patricia Rianne

The Dance Council Malta will be holding a week of classes in classical ballet with New Zealand born Patricia Rianne. These classes will be held at The Dance Academy, 63 Triq iz-Zaghfran, Attard. They will start on Tuesday 6 April and finish on Friday 9 April. Classes for Grade 6/Intermediate will be from 4pm - 5.30pm and for Advanced 1/ Advanced 2, classes will be from 5.30pm-7.30pm.

In her distinguished career as a ballet dancer Patricia Rianne received much critical acclaim and praise. She was trained in New Zealand and also at The Royal Ballet School, London. In her distinguished career she danced leading roles by choreographers as diverse as Glen Tetley, Norman Morrice, Anna Sokolow, Anthony Tudor, Flemming Flindt, Peter Farrell, Andre Prokovsky, Walter Gore and Bejart.

She performed with the Ballet de L’Opera de Marseilles, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, Ballet Rambert, Western Theatre Ballet, London City Ballet and extensively with Scottish Ballet as a resident principal dancer and founder member. She has partnered many internationally renowned dancers including, Peter Shaufuss, Ivan Naggy and Nureyev. Since retiring from the stage Ms Rianne has re-channelled her energies into production and choreography. Since 1994 Ms Rianne has been resident at London Contemporary Dance School.
