Those of your readers who did not watch the television programme to which Daphne Caruana Galizia referred in her column entitled The fat lady has sung (TMIS, 21 March), should have been told that the “arrogant and ignorant” remarks she attributed to me were, in fact, quoted by me from leading experts in the field, Theatre Projects of London.

Moreover, Renzo Piano’s partner, Bernard Plattner, who was deemed to have been “too polite” to me, invited me for a two-hour discussion in Paris with Renzo Piano himself and the other architects working on the Malta project, on my own ideas. These are, as viewers of the TV discussion well know, quite different from and much more modest than those of the others that I was asked by the

conductor of the TV discussion, Lou Bondi, to relay to Mr Plattner.

I certainly cannot claim that my ideas were accepted, but, equally certainly, they were seriously

considered.
