It is a journey around the world amidst fascinating colours and items with an elegant style that evoke far-off countries. It is an exploration of multiethnic cultures where tradition blends with experimentation, modern with folk, and where classical forms are attributed with unusual functions. The new 2010 spring/summer Scholl collection is eclectic in its colours and shapes, always retaining fine elegance and sophistication and most of all maintaining intact the interaction between mankind and nature.
The richness of the Collection also lives in chromatic influences and tactile sensations: From changeable and glittering leather to soft and rich powder-like nubuck, from intense natural pigments to fresh although grayish pastels.
The proposals of Scholl place themselves in this scenario: Models of ultra-flat sandals and flip-flops with straps wrapping up the ankle, sandals and pump shoes with cork heel and plateau for women. For men, elegance and comfort are proposed in functional and essential sandals, as well as slip-on and laceup shoes in earthly colours.
The new Scholl collection expresses a unique style and glamour that blends together a sophisticated although practical approach, at times minimalist. In it, two aspects live together, apparently distant but complementary with each other.
On one hand, the collection takes inspiration from the nature in its use of essential and fine
materials, with neutral and pastel colours evoking tactile sensations. Traditional and essential shapes are now attributed with unusual functions. In this way the application of a decorative element to the sandals with cork heel and plateau provides a value added that refines them, lending a different taste to the essentiality of the most extreme minimalism.
In this line, the touch is fundamental, as we see an exaltation of the felt sense. Leather is soft and rich, calfskin and nubuck are dull and powder-like. Laminated dull leather alternate with delicate dashes of colour and light whites. The sophistication of the line is exalted by the various shade white, pastel tones and a very light array of neutral colours.
However nature is also mystery and power. These aspects are interpreted by Scholl in the use of glittering materials and luminous dashes. Colours are sparkling, bright and iridescent to form an impalpable whirl of colour hues. This second mood of the new collection is also a journey around the world, to the heart of multi-ethnic cultures.
Particularly noteworthy is the use of leather with light pearly accents and calfskin with an artisan look. Colours are intense like the natural pig-ments, warm and alive like the
earthly colours: Tan, brown and blue.
This new collection dedicates a wide range of sandals for men made with care and enriched with decorative finishes, which testify to the artisan quality of the products. The collection includes sandals with essential and soft materials for a vintage look, oiled leather and skin for a more sporty version and calfskin with a natural effect for an extremely fine style. Flip-flop models and slippers’ minimal versions stand out for the Scholl buckle, an internationally renowned icon.
In the casual line, the proposals include slip-on and lace-up shoes. These models are in dull greased nubuck with a powder-like finishing in brown, dark brown and antelope.
The formal line definitely focuses on suede moccasins characterised by a Bioprint arch support and a particularly flexible rubber sole, lending to classical shoes high wearability and comfort. The available colours range from variations of navy blue to grey, featuring colour combinations typical of the earthly tones, from dark brown to antelope.
