It is very clear that Malta’s vast silent majority is in favour of government’s plans to regenerate the entrance to our capital city Valletta. Though it is true that many objectors have aired their views against the Piano project, it is also true that some of these are self proclaimed patronising experts in everything, from arts to politics to divorce to abortion!
A democratically elected government is there to govern. It must obviously listen to the people on major issues through dialogue, evaluate and decide. God forbid if, I repeat, a democratically elected government is continuously obstructed by self appointed experts who cause more harm than good to the general public by airing their views which, I fear, are at times politically motivated and only serve to delay much awaited major projects to be implemented.
