Sunday, 11 April was a very interesting day for my family and me. First we visited the Festa Frawli in Mgarr, where there were so many good things to taste. It is amazing how many recipes one can create with a small fruit like the strawberry.

We then visited Mdina. Such a shame that the festival was only on for two days. With so many people in Mdina, one could tell how hungry the Maltese people are for such festivals. The streets of Mdina looked so alive with the flower arrangements and plants. And the doors with their hanging arrangements looked so attractive. From the tickets hanging from the plants I could see that the whole process was in the good hands of Wigi and Doris Micallef, their sons and the whole team of Green Supplier which, by coincidence, is one of the directors of the Environmental Landscape Consortium.

No wonder Malta looks brighter since the introduction of this consortium.

I wish to congratulate the mayor and councillors of Mdina for organising such a great event. May next year’s event be spread over more days so that more people will have the opportunity to see the beauty of Mdina when decorated.
