The new Opel Corsa came out best in the DEKRA Faults Report 2010. The car with the lowest fault quota overall (‘Best Individual Ranking’) was the Opel Corsa (97.6%). This put the small car slightly ahead of the fifth-generation Audi A4 and the third generation Mercedes C Class.
For the 2010 Report experts evaluated the reports of more than 15 million main inspections from the last two years. In order to ensure that the information is reliable, the used car report only contains statistical data about a particular type if at least 1,000 vehicles of that type were inspected in the corresponding mileage range.
German cars secured first spots in five out of the eight disciplines covered by the Fault Report. German models took 13 of the 21 first places in the seven vehicle classes and three mileage ranges.
“The DEKRA Faults Report 2010 shows that German models like Opel are once again setting new standards in terms of durability and workmanship,” explains Dipl. Ing. Clemens Klinke, Chairman of the Board of Management at DEKRA Automobil GmbH. “It is remarkable that the Opel Corsa, a small car, came out on top as the car with the lowest fault quota. In the past, this segment tended to be dominated by models from Japan.”
The Opel Corsa D was the winner in the minis/small cars segment despite strong competition from Asia and Europe.
