BWSC yesterday gave the government consent to table sections of the Delimara Power Station extension contract before the House of Representatives.

In a statement, the Finance, Economy and Investment Ministry said it will be tabling the document in parliament this evening following BWSC’s approval.

In a letter to Enemalta Corporation Chief Executive Officer Karl Camilleri, bearing yesterday’s date, BWSC said the list of sub-suppliers and sub-contractors, letters from NlB, the European lnvestment Bank, Danske Bank, CNA, Wärtsilä and Siemens, mechanical schedules, the vendor's list, details on the diesel engines, generators, selective catalytic reduction, flue gas desulfurization, GIS switchgear and a presentation of the control system, were not the be published.

The letter, a copy of which was attached to the government’s statement, said the sections contained confidential and proprietary information belonging to BWSC’s sub-suppliers.

“Our sub-suppliers have not waived the confidentiality of their sensitive information and have declined our request for consent to release the listed sections. BWSC could be subject to substantial liability if these sections are released and request your cooperation in this respect,” it said.

BWSC added its policy was to protect its technology and business interests, and consequently never released any contractual documents to the public.

“This request is without precedent for BWSC,” it noted.

The consent is conditioned to the tabling of one hardcopy before the House of Representatives. No further copies can be distributed to third parties.
