Selective Memory?

Malta Independent Friday, 14 May 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

Your columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia seems to be suffering from an acute condition of a very selective memory. Or perhaps, she purposely misquotes in order to allow space for venting her hatred against anything Labour.

In her article published yesterday, she misquotes the PL leader as having said (about Justyne Caruana) that (Government MPs picked on her as) “she’s the ‘weakest link’”.

In actual fact (and I heard this live), the PL leader’s phrase went on to say “...or so they (Government MPs) think! Little do they (Government MPs) know what stuff she’s made of”. Or something to that effect anyway.

Which changes completely the meaning of what was said!

Mrs Caruana Galizia’s anti-Labour obsession is well-known to everyone. Resorting to tactics of the sort as mentioned above is tantamount to downright lying through one’s teeth, motivated solely by one’s own pathological fixation with hatred towards Labour.
