.Malta’s women’s team finished 12th and last in the European sevens championship in Bucharest, Romania the past weekend.
Malta were drawn in Pool B alongside the Czech Republic, Israel, Romania, Latvia and Switzerland.
In the preliminary round matches, they lost to Romania 7-12, Czech Republic 14-7, Switzerland 0-20 and Latvia 5-14, while they figured in a 5-5 draw with Israel.
In the second round, they lost 17-12 against Bulgaria and then lost the match for 11th place against Israel 15-5.
Moldova won the tournament after beating Switzerland 19-17 in the final. Belgium were third. They beat Romania 26-0 in the match for third and fourth place.
