Reference is made to the story carried in your newspaper on Wednesday 26 May, entitled ‘MEA calls for improved efficiency in processing EU-funded projects’ and in particular to the reference to the Training Aid Framework.

The Employment and Training Corporation is committed to continue to promote the Training Aid Framework and provide funds to employers who qualify under this scheme. The Corporation is processing a number of applications on a daily basis and is doing its utmost to process the pending applications as soon as possible.

Since the launch of the Training Aid Framework, 1504 applications were received by ETC. From these, 1367 have already been examined by the Evaluation Committee. 732 applications were declared eligible for the TAF Grants and 711 grant agreements have already been signed.

All applicant organisations have been informed of the outcome of the Evaluation Committee except for a small number whose applications are still being processed.

Currently the Corporation is working hard on the processing of reimbursement claims and obtaining the necessary documentation and information from applicant organisations to back their claim according to the ESF regulations.

In processing the TAF applications, ETC is responsible to ensure the highest degree of accountability and transparency in the distribution of these funds.
