Just in time for the spring/summer season, the Danish shoe manufacturer ECCO launched a new walking shoe: the BIOM Walk. The new walking shoe is developed according to the “Natural Motion” philosophy; it allows the foot to move as naturally as possible.

Walking is the most natural movement known to mankind. All bones, tendons and muscles are adjusted for walking and it is a movement for which the body requires little additional support. That is why ECCO came up with the idea of Natural Motion and launched BIOM running shoes in March 2009 after years of studies.

Now, ECCO has used the knowledge to create the first BIOM for walking – BIOM Walk. Based on the same principles of “Natural Motion” as the running range, BIOM Walk has no over-protection, excessive cushioning or movement control. Instead, the foot is allowed to move freely and will gradually build up the foot muscles. Therefore BIOM Walk is an ideal walking shoe: It offers a small amount of cushioning but it still has all benefits of natural motion. With its perfect fit the BIOM Walk offers maximum comfort.

BIOM Walk is available for both men and women in ultra-resistant yak leather and is available in white or black yak leather, which is three times stronger than calf leather.
