Melita Mobile was the most preferred mobile network of choice in 2009, winning more than 64 per cent of the customer growth in the market for year, according to statistics provided in the latest MCA market review for the period July – December 2009.

During 2009, the mobile market grew by 40,097 customers and 25,746 chose to subscribe to Melita Mobile.

Remarkably, Melita also registered exceptional results in the post-paid subscriptions, with over 18,000 out of the 78,507 pay monthly subscriptions opting for Melita Mobile and providing the operator a share of 23.3 per cent in the post-paid market in its first year of operation.

Traffic on Melita Mobile is also on the increase. Latest figures as at December 2009 show that the total minutes used by pre-paid customers increased by over 69 per cent. This year, traffic has continued to grow substantially as well, following a similar growth pattern.

Findings from a survey conducted by an independent research agency (BPC) revealed that the number of satisfied Melita Mobile subscribers increased by 11 per cent during the second half of 2009 when compared to the initial launch period.
