Mr Bencini And Hondoq

Malta Independent Sunday, 6 June 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Architect Edward Bencini stated that the project at Hondoq was opposed by “a few persons with private interests”.

I would like to point out the fallacy of his words.

The anti-project group consists of many; their numbers far outweighed your group at the Qala meeting, as do the number of articles/letters/blogs!

What will Hondoq users gain by saving it? Not money! No material gains that I can think of. What then? An affordable place to relax from the pressures of everyday life in one of the last pristine beaches on the island (if not the last). So what are these “private interests” of which you speak? Be specific.

On the other hand, the pro-project group, which consists of developers, architects and construction workers, what does this small group that was presented at the meeting have to gain? Money! Or are you doing it free of charge to help investment in Gozo?

So stop the hoodwinking Mr Bencini, you’re not as slick as you think you are! The majority has everything to lose, while you, the minority, have everything to gain.
