The Mepa Board of Directors headed by chairman Austin Walker visited SmartCity Malta this week to view the progress and the work on site, which is now in full swing. This visit was possible following SmartCity Malta’s invitation to show the Mepa Board the construction work on SCM 01 and the overall site infrastructure.

SmartCity’s chief executive officer, Fareed Abdulrahman, and executive director of Project Development and Planning, Jawad Suleiman welcomed the Mepa officials.

While thanking them for taking the time to visit the site, Mr Abdulrahman said, “This visit forms part of our ongoing relationship building with local authorities. Right from the start, we have always worked closely with Mepa delegates and welcomed their valued opinions. Throughout the development process we have also worked well with local architects and contractors and together introduced new concepts which respected the local environment.”

Mr Abdulrahman’s introduction was followed by a detailed presentation made by Mr Sulemian’s on the SmartCity Malta master plan and the work in progress on SmartCity Malta’s Phases One A and One B.

The Mepa board members also had the opportunity to tour the site and view the construction work at SCM01, which has now reached its final stages in preparation for the launch on 10 October.

The Mepa delegation also included Charles Bonnici, Architect Christopher Borg, Sylvana Debono, Ing. Joe Farrugia and Joseph Tabone Iacono.
