Dress Code

Malta Independent Sunday, 27 June 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

Wonders never cease! I generally disagree completely with many of Stephen Calleja’s opinion pieces, particularly the one he penned on Sunday, 13 June, where I felt that he was rather chauvinistic with respect to women.

However, I wholeheartedly agree with his criticism concerning the amateurish policy and practice of PBS. All four points he mentions are spot-on.

PBS seems to have no idea about bon ton and basic presentation. How can a national TV station allow anyone to appear on air wearing inappropriate apparel? Is there no dress code?

I also agree with him that there are individuals who should be spared criticism. I happen to have worked with George Micallef in a formal environment and he has always had a refined sense of what sports journalism is all about. He is very well qualified and professional in this particular field. Once again, well done on this one.

PBS has absolutely no idea about putting on programmes related to sports events of this magnitude.
