A piece of rock from the peak of Mount Everest is the highlight of a display at Bank of Valletta’s Head Office in Santa Venera. This display honours the Challenge8000 Team, the first Maltese to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain.

Bank of Valletta’s chief executive officer Tonio Depasquale congratulated Marco Cremona and Gregory Attard on their historic feat, during a meeting held at BOV’s Head Office. Mr Depasquale said, “As one of the main sponsors of the endeavour, we at BOV followed the expedition’s progress daily and rejoiced at the success with the rest of the Maltese community, both in Malta and abroad,”

Marco and Gregory presented Mr Depasquale with a piece of rock from the peak of Mount Everest together with a Maltese and BOV flag signed by all the team members. Both flags were taken with the Challenge8000 Team to the pinnacle.

The full kit, worn by the climbers during their expedition, the BOV flag and memento rock are on display in the foyer of Bank of Valletta’s Head Office in Santa Venera.
